Get To Know Our Houses

All Senior School students are members of a House, whether they are day pupils or boarders. These Houses serve as second families, tight-knit communities where young people learn, grow, and create lasting memories of their time at Epsom.

More than just buildings, Houses are homes where students find belonging among friends, peers, and staff members.

Each House is led by a Housemaster/Housemistress (known as an HMM), supported by an Assistant HMM, Resident Tutor, House Matron/Steward, and visiting Tutors. Together, they provide academic and pastoral support, guiding students through the challenges of adolescence and helping them develop confidence and self-assurance.

House staff oversee students’ schedules, organize House activities, supervise evenings, and facilitate Prefect training and House Councils. The strong sense of family within the House system significantly contributes to the wellbeing and success of every student, leaving a lasting impact beyond their school years.

Prep School pupils from Year 1 upwards are affiliated with a House upon joining the College, fostering connections with the Senior School through inter-house competitions and events. Prep School boarders seamlessly integrate into Boarding Houses, joining Senior pupils in a close-knit community during evenings and weekends.

With over 90% of staff residing on campus with their families, Epsom fosters a unique family-like atmosphere, enriching the College experience with a sense of shared community and care.
